Vehicles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Authorities reported they were contacted by a man who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis indicate the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in association with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for details.

An important political figure commented the incident made him stunned and had to be resolved quickly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
